Hughes funeral on December 3; Gabba Test delayed

Phillip Hughes will be farewelled in the place where he grew up of Macksville in northern New South Wales on Wednesday, December 3, and the first Test between Australia and India deferred keeping in mind the end goal to give his previous buddies time to lament and reflect upon his life.

Cricket Australia reported on Saturday evening that Hughes' memorial service will occur at 2pm on Wednesday in the games corridor of Macksville High School, with flood zones to be set-up for visitors to watch the administration on the school's two ovals.

The memorial service will be show live on TV and radio, and extra flights in the middle of Sydney and Coffs Harbor - around 45 minutes' head out from Macksville, have been set up. Adelaide Oval and the SCG will both show the administration on their scoreboard screens. CA's CEO James Sutherland said the reactions to Hughes' passing at the SCG on Tuesday had been overpowering.

Austrlaia's players met at the SCG on Friday and were consistent in their view that Hughes required to be farewelled and time left for lamenting before the cricket could go on. The Australian Cricketers Association Alistair Nicholson reverberated this perspective.

"In the wake of counseling with the players, we have conveyed to Cricket Australia that the chance to goodbye their buddy is the need, and the possibility of them playing the accompanying day is essentially too huge an ask," he said. "The players are experiencing a lamenting methodology and they must be managed the chance to do so.

"As anybody can admire, this methodology doesn't run as indicated by a clock or a datebook. This is an exceptional circumstance and an one of a kind reaction is needed. We will keep on talking about alternatives with the players and Cricket Australia over the advancing days."
